so jazzie What brought you into the world of music ?
\n<\/strong><\/span>I was born into it, surrounded by music from the get go,\u00a0all 5 of my brothers had sound systems.<\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n
How did you end up collaborating with Nellee Hooper for Soul II Soul?
\n<\/strong><\/span>We initially connected via the legendary promoter Neutrament in the early 80’s. We were part of opposing sound systems, I used to go to Bristol\u00a0to play and he’d come to London. Once him and Milo moved to Camden, the rest was history.

\n<\/a>What\/Who has been the biggest inspiration to your music ?<\/strong>
\n<\/a>Sound systems in the realist form are my biggest inspiration.<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h6>\n
What has been the highlight of your career? <\/span><\/strong>
\nBeing honoured with a life size sculpture of myself in Finsbury Park where I grew up, i was voted by the community so that’s extra special to me.<\/strong>

What has been your most memorable gig? Anything weird and wonderful happen?<\/strong><\/span>
\nBack II Life, Antigua. \u00a0A week long music festival with Norman Jay, David Rodigan & Trevor Nelson that was held in different spectacular locations. It brought together party people from all around the world to dance to the sounds of pioneers of the London soul, funk and reggae \u2018soundsystem\u2019 era<\/strong><\/h6>\n

What would you advise to aspiring songwriters?<\/span><\/strong>
\nKeep on movin’ !<\/strong><\/h6>\n
How does it feel to perform solo rather than as Soul II Soul and what do you prefer?<\/span>
\nNo preference really, they’re both just as good. Performing solo is pretty much the same but without the entourage.<\/h6>\n

\nWhen and what made you first come to Ibiza?<\/span>
\nI first came in the early Balearic days with Nellee to play, circa ’87.
